Adding music or sound files to a web page can really add something to the visitor's overall enjoyment of it.  There are a few kinds of files that you can add to a web page.  The most often used is the MIDI file.  It stands for "Musical Instrument Digital Interface."  In other words, the computer manufactures each instruments sound.  These files are usually not very large so they are quick and easy to use on a web page.  Click here for an article on how to add a midi or sound file to your web page.

Some visitors may find your music annoying or offensive, so you should use them with care.  You should create a link to listen or at least make sure that there is some way to stop the music from playing.  I have personally had problems with music playing on some sites when surfing the net late at night.   Sometimes you can wake the whole house up because you can't cut off the music!
