If you really want to add some pizzazz to your web page, you may want to add some Java or JavaScript applets to it.  JavaScript is a very simple language whereas Java is very complex.

Here is an example of JavaScript.  It automatically calculates the number of shopping days that are left until Christmas 2001.  The javascript program outputs the data in the HTML language so your internet browser can display it for you to see.

Here is an example of a Java applet.  If you don't see anthing after a few minutes, you may not have Java enabled.  You will have to go into your browser's options and enable it.
